Happy Birthday Gramps!
Life is so unpredictable. I kind of feel like I'm on a roller coaster right now. I have so much happening at once, I'm not even sure what to tell people....so they only get bits and pieces. I do have wonderful happenings as well. I think I'll talk about that!
One of my mom's friends has a booth in the Canton flea market (It's one of the biggest flea markets in the country) and she has asked me to put my Silly Turnips in it. Not only that, but she asked me to decorate the booth for her. Right now it's just plain white walls. What's really great is that it's in one of the nicer areas so we can leave everything set up and not have to take it down every month. I have a ton of ideas and am super excited! I love stuff like this. I'll tell you more about it as we go along.

I found a chandelier today to hang from the booth ceiling.....going to paint that purple....pretty ugly as-is. The back wall is going to be a chartruese green with multiple mirrors and a turquise chaise lounge centered against the wall. The side walls will be a pale turqoise and.....the rest I'll have to explain later b/c it's confusing without pics. Anyway, I'm having a blast.
I found the prettiest hats thrifting today. This picture really doesn't do them justice. The little mouse is for my neice Audrey. I'm working on some toys specifically for babies...ie no choking hazards. I have some girl squirrels almost made and I'm also starting Christmas ornaments. So far I've made a traditional bird pattern but I'm using these funky grandma-looking polyesters in bright colors...lime green with a red velvet belly, and lemon yellow with turquise bellies.
I embroidered the tail, so it won't choke a little one.

I love that you get do to things called 'thifting'. I so do not have a talent for knowing I'm not getting taken for.

I see potential, but I like to know I'm getting a bargain too!

The mouse is adorable~

"Thrifting" is the best! I always ask myself, "Could I buy this at Target or Walmart for cheaper?" I try and stay under $10 for the whole total. It has to be really, really special to go over that. It also helps that all the Thrifts here *only* take cash. If I only have $10 then I only spend that amount!

So excited for you Leigh!! The Canton booth is a great opportunity for you! We'll have to come to Canton some time just to buy your stuff from her in person!!!

Ah, thanks for making the little mouse for Audrey. She will love it. And suck on it. It's how she rolls. Sorry I never emailed you back about Avery's bday present. She loves red and pink (such a girl), princess stuff, dressing up and drawing. I don't know if that helps...
